Celebrities performing for the world slip up sometimes. New Year’s Eve brings celebrity celebrations that you can experience in-person or stream from home. While not all performances result in wardrobe malfunctions, it’s safe to say all these celebrities revealed more than expected.
Miley Cyrus

Only a few minutes into 2022, Miley Cyrus was faced with a full-blown wardrobe crisis on live television. She handled the incident like a seasoned professional. While performing “Party in the USA” in Miami, her top came loose. Without missing a beat or stopping her set, Miley Cyrus turned her back to the audience, let the top fall, and quickly dashed off-stage to change. “Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus sang when she returned to the stage in a red blazer, adding, “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage.”

Mariah Carey

To welcome 2018, Mariah Carey was the headliner for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in New York’s Time Square. That year, about a million revelers jammed in to greet the new year despite frigid temperatures.
The problem appeared to be “technical difficulties” while she was lip-syncing some of her hits, according to her spokeswoman, Nicole Perna, but Carey also had trouble reaching some notes when she tried to sing.
The diva of divas appeared to be perturbed about it at the time:
She stopped attempting to sing Emotions, paced the stage and told the audience to finish the lyrics for her. “I’m trying to be a good sport here,” she told the crowd. “We’re missing some of these vocals, but it is what it is.”
Later, she stopped singing We Belong Together after another malfunction. When she lowered the microphone from her mouth, the music and vocals kept playing, making it clear she was lip-synching.
“It just doesn’t get any better,” she said, and left the stage.
“Unfortunately there was nothing she could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances,” Perna told the Associated Press Sunday.
